Traveling With Your Cat – Try These Pet Friendly Hotels

All across this great land, there are pet friendly hotels just waiting to pamper your pet while you stay and play. While dogs are the most popular traveling companion to check into the hotels listed below, rest assured that most also happily welcome cats, lizards, and all manner of paws-itive companions!

If you and your fur baby plan a visit to the Left Coast, be sure to check out Calistoga Ranch in Napa Valley. The luxury, 157-acre resort is nestled in a private canyon with its own lake. Each free-standing cabin comes complete with a dog bed, a newsletter full of canine-friendly activities, and best of all a wine bottle chock full of (non-alcoholic!) doggie treats. All pets are welcome, with an accompanying $125 pet fee.

Next up, wander over to the Laurel Inn in San Francisco, a boutique inn with spacious, apartment style rooms. There is no additional charge for pets, and chew toys, dog beds, and city tour books are all offered for your convenience. Presidio National Park is within walking distance, as are miles of dog-friendly beaches.

Farther east, be sure to check into and check out the Palomar hotel in Philadelphia. It’s been called one of the most animal-friendly hotels in the country, and it’s a place where pig pets are regular guests! If you need to leave your fur baby behind, pet sitters are available seven days a week. Best of all, Fido might make a Forever Friend here—the hotel features adoptable rescue dogs among its many virtues!

At the Loews hotel in New Orleans, both you and your pet can indulge in gourmet meals and pampering treatments. Not only is there an acclaimed people restaurant on site, but gourmet room service is available for cats and dogs; with separate menus for Fido and Fluffy, of course!

If you plan to visit the nation’s capital, especially if you travel with an exotic pet, consider a stay at the Rogue Hotel. No pet—if it is legally owned in this country—is off limits! Mini-ponies and penguins have been known to mingle in the Rogue’s lobby. There is no added room fee for any animal, no matter if it’s covered in fur, feathers, scales or whatever!

Farther south, the W South Beach in Miami offers the ultimate in convenience for pet parents. If you forget to bring supplies, or just need extras, the front desk has all manner of leashes, pooper scoopers, litter boxes, etc. The friendly staff can provide pet walking and sitting service numbers, and the beach is within easy walking distance.

Traveling with your animal has never been easier, or more popular. So what are you waiting for, doesn’t your fur baby (and you) deserve the very best?

We generally leave our pets at home (we have 2 cats) since they get quite anxious when not in their environment. This is a nice idea, but we find that we do better with them at home and my neighbor feeding them 2x a day… we barter since I do it for his dog and cat when he’s not home too.
